Mr George Osborne MP, together with Victrex Directors, Kenny Gilmour and Tim Cooper and Addison’s Marcus Addison, have officially opened a new production facility at Victrex plc, Thornton Cleveleys.
The new APTIV production facility will create a high quality PEEK film product which is exported globally and used in millions of smartphone speaker diaphragms, as well as in aerospace applications, and in electrical drive and generator systems in the automotive and energy sector.
Addison Project has supported this project from its concept stage, through to detailed design and construction. During this phase over 50,000 injury-free man hours were achieved. The project was completed on a design and build basis for all the process elements. Addison’s scope has included detailed design, project management, planning, procurement, SHE management, construction management and commissioning support.
Addison Engineering Hillhouse Ltd. have also played a significant part in this project with their engineering teams. They provided the installation services to the facility, including pipework, ductwork and installing the main plant items.
Marcus Addison comments
“This as a strong example of how Addison can work closely with a manufacturing partner and deliver exceptional results for our customers. From beginning to end we have worked closely with Victrex to clearly understand their needs and requirements from this facility. What we have delivered here is a first class manufacturing process and installation, to budget, within the required completion date and with an exceptional safety record. I know that Victrex are delighted with the success of this project and our achievements here will hopefully put us in a strong position when our client considers selecting an engineering partner for investments of this nature in the future”.
