Addison wins the Special Recognition Award at the Wyre Walk of Fame Awards

Addison were nominated by Wyre Council for the chance to win the Special Recognition Award at the inaugural Walk of Fame Ceremony, along with 40 other local businesses, which took place on 20th November 2014.

Although the competition was fierce, we were delighted to triumph and receive this special award in recognition of the construction and   ongoing operations of our brand new R&D facility.

The Special Recognition Award commends businesses that have achieved an exceptional level of success over the past 12 months and have made a positive contribution to the Wyre economy.

Our success in recent years has resulted in the need to grow the company, leading to the investment of £5m into our Precision Machining business. The brand new state of the art facility was officially opened by the Prime Minister Mr David Cameron earlier this year, pictured here with Marcus Addison.

Within this facility we manufacture and develop body parts for the medical industry, vital parts for the aerospace industry and even components for F1 racing cars.

Since opening the facility we have attracted new clients such as Rolls Royce who have been so impressed, they have now engaged us on both production parts and a project for the design and development of the next generation of jet engines for passenger airliners.

We expect this world class engineering facility will see our client portfolio grow and also our demand for local engineers and machinists. It is part of a new chapter in the company and has been designed, built and commissioned from the ground up by our own in house engineers and management teams. This is a truly excellent example of some of the great work we do here at Addison and testament to the skills and dedication of our teams. The facility will allow our business the room to expand in the most state of the art direction to   service the needs of our clients both today and long into the future.
