Addison enter the debate on fracking in the North West

With the debate on Shale Gas extraction gathering pace Addison have taken a lead in the process by agreeing to represent the local north west SMEs by sitting on the North West Energy Task Force.

The North West Energy Task Force is charged with understanding how the responsible extraction of natural gas from Lancashire’s shale can be used to create jobs, generate economic growth and boost local revenues.

The Task Force consists of 16 leading business professionals from a range of backgrounds all of whom stand to be affected in some way by the introduction of Shale extraction in the local area. We are delighted to confirm that Marcus Addison is one of these leading professionals and sits on the Task Force.

Recent events included a panel debate chaired by Mr Bill Beaumont at the Blackpool Winter Gardens in front of a 500 strong audience including business leaders and local residents. This included a presentation from the Minister of State for Energy at the time, Mr Michael Fallon MP.

The panel debate opened up some interesting dialogue and proved to be a successful event in promoting the issues and concerns further and acting as a platform to move forward.

The event, which was filmed by BBC Television, drew the attention of their local news channel who featured the event on its prime time evening show.
